[htmltmpl] loop iterations count

Hello html-template-users,

  I wonder if there is a possibility to get the count of iterations
  in a loop.

  <TMPL_VAR __counter__> returns the number of current iteration.

  of course, I know that I always can do param() to put this into a
  template, but may be there is an other way...
