Hi Eric, I'm soon going to release a program I've been working on=20 called "SnarfReader". It's my old HTMLWindow.cpp code that I've re-worked many times and used in several of my programs.=20 Basically it's a simple html reader but with the ability to open=20 packaged web sites; I've developed a small program to bundle=20 multiple .html files in a directory into a single pkg format file.=20 Don't know if this qualifies as a htmlreader - I guess I could use=20 a little help getting the packager to incorporate gifs and jpegs > -----Original Message----- > From: htm...@li... = [SMTP:htm...@li...] > Sent: Thursday, 1 August 2002 4:51 am > To: htm...@li... > Subject: Html-ebook-devel digest, Vol 1 #20 - 1 msg >=20 > Send Html-ebook-devel mailing list submissions to > htm...@li... >=20 > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/html-ebook-devel > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > htm...@li... >=20 > You can reach the person managing the list at > htm...@li... >=20 > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Html-ebook-devel digest..." >=20 >=20 > Today's Topics: >=20 > 1. html-ebook project (Eric Hanuise) >=20 > --__--__-- >=20 > Message: 1 > Date: Wed, 31 Jul 2002 16:18:09 +0200 > To: htm...@li... > From: Eric Hanuise <eha...@he...> > Subject: [Html-ebook-devel] html-ebook project >=20 >=20 > Hi everyone. > It's been quite a while, as you'll undoubtedly notice. >=20 > I had hoped to be able to put moire time in the project this year, but = life=20 > decided otherwise. > I eventually relocated in Brussels, and changed jobs as well. >=20 > I have been thinking about the project lately, and it appears I won't = be=20 > able to spend as much time as I would like to with it in the near = future,=20 > so I came to the conclusion that I'd better pass the project admin = status=20 > to whomever is interested in pushing it forward. >=20 > What we have at this point is a description of a yet-to-be-created=20 > application, or framework, and a nice design document. > That's the itch to be scratched :) >=20 > Those of you who are familiar with copyright and DRM issues will no = doubt=20 > understand the importance of creating a ebook reader standard that is=20 > opensourced and relies on open standards. >=20 > I recently discovered the joys of OpenOffice and its open file formats = > (just try it for yourself : go to openoffice.org, download the suite, = open=20 > a ms word .doc file, save it as openoffice document, rename the = resulting=20 > .sxw file in a ;zip file, unzip it, and oh surprise, it contains only = plain=20 > text xml documents, that are fairly standard and portable.), they = achieved=20 > here something very similar to what i had in mind when originating = this=20 > process. >=20 > I intend to post an ad in sourceforge saying the project is looking = for a=20 > new leader, next week., if no-one in the current developpers applies = for=20 > the position. >=20 > I feel the project has not been evolving lately because it lacked me = (or=20 > another project leader) to push things forward, attract developpers = and get=20 > things done. >=20 > I of course welcome your advice and opinions on this :) >=20 > CU all. >=20 >=20 >=20 >=20 > --__--__-- >=20 > _______________________________________________ > Html-ebook-devel mailing list > Htm...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/html-ebook-devel >=20 >=20 > End of Html-ebook-devel Digest |

Hi everyone. It's been quite a while, as you'll undoubtedly notice. I had hoped to be able to put moire time in the project this year, but life decided otherwise. I eventually relocated in Brussels, and changed jobs as well. I have been thinking about the project lately, and it appears I won't be able to spend as much time as I would like to with it in the near future, so I came to the conclusion that I'd better pass the project admin status to whomever is interested in pushing it forward. What we have at this point is a description of a yet-to-be-created application, or framework, and a nice design document. That's the itch to be scratched :) Those of you who are familiar with copyright and DRM issues will no doubt understand the importance of creating a ebook reader standard that is opensourced and relies on open standards. I recently discovered the joys of OpenOffice and its open file formats (just try it for yourself : go to openoffice.org, download the suite, open a ms word .doc file, save it as openoffice document, rename the resulting .sxw file in a ;zip file, unzip it, and oh surprise, it contains only plain text xml documents, that are fairly standard and portable.), they achieved here something very similar to what i had in mind when originating this process. I intend to post an ad in sourceforge saying the project is looking for a new leader, next week., if no-one in the current developpers applies for the position. I feel the project has not been evolving lately because it lacked me (or another project leader) to push things forward, attract developpers and get things done. I of course welcome your advice and opinions on this :) CU all. |
