[htdig-dev] allow_in_form not working

I have defined a variable called user_name_value in
htdig.conf as follows
allow_in_form: user_name_value

In searchform I have following
<input type="hidden" name="user_name_value"
value="rawar">

In long.html I tried to display the value of
user_name_value as $(USER_NAME_VALUE),
but it does not show rawar. It looks like its blank.

Why am I missing something here. Please help.
