[htdig-dev] punctuation in phrase searches

  Appears to be a problem with htdig-3.2.0b4.0811 (gcc, solaris 5.7)

  a "all"   search for   e.coli    produces   42 hits
  a "all"   search for   ecoli     produces   42 hits as expected   ( . is
punctuation mark )
  a "All" phrase search  "ecoli"   produces   42 hits
  a "All" phrase search  "e.coli"  produces    0 hits    ( has . not been
removed ?)

is the phrase not having its  bad words and punctuation dealt with before
search?
