Anyone an idea how I can trick htdig in showing some featured documents at
the top of the search list, if the search string contains a featured string?
My idea was to misuse a special tag, like the keyword tag or a meta tag and
set the ranking factor for this to a very high value.
My problem is, that I need all the present tags, so I cannot reserve one for
Any other option to show a variable number of given documents always on the
top of the list if the search string contains a given word?
Or any rarely used tag I missed?

No, but there's a patch to 3.1.x (that was incorporated into the 3.2
code) that does similar things. The first was url_seed_score which was
eventually supplanted by the search_results_order patch, allowing
certain URL patterns to end up at the top of the list.
I don't know if that would help, but it might be a start.
