It would be nice if htdig complained when the htdig.conf
file contains errors, much like apache's configtest option
does.
e.g. add the following (typoed) line to htdig.conf
iso_8609: true
htdig will not complain.
It would be good if htdig warned that iso_8609 was not
a valid configuration option.

Nice suggestion. One problem is that people can set their
*own* attributes in the htdig.conf file, for use in
htsearch output. However, I agree that it would be nice
to have some sort of check. We could also check things
like the number of patterns in "noindex_start" is equal to
the number of patterns in "noindex_end", and that numeric
parameters have numeric arguments.
