Hello everybody,
we are a big web hosting company in Greece and we
use ht://dig on our webservers but it is practically
uselless at the moment for Greek websites because it
does not support the greek language charset.
Furthermore we would need all standard search and
result text (e.g.: "Search results", "No matches were
found for...", "Check the spelling of the search word(s)
you used" etc etc) that are currently only in English, to
display in Greek, even only for the versions we use on
our servers. This would be ideal!
If you think that we could do this on our own, please
advise or give us a timeframe when should we be
expecting the Greek Charset support to be added to
ht://dig?
Thank you very much,
Yannis

Greetings,
The standard results text is easy to customise. They are
just in a bunch of "template" files. Take a look at
<http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q4.10>.
I don't know enough about Greek character encoding to help
you with the other issue. Take a look at
<http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#locale> to see if that
helps... Currently, ht://Dig doesn't support
unicode/UTF-8 encoding; it is something we have spoken
about, but I don't expect it until at least a year's time.
If setting the locale can't help, then please follow up
on this feature request.
Cheers,
Lachlan
