Hi, Rainer.  I'm glad things are working for you.  However, before you waste
time testing SANE, I should point out that SANE does not yet support
scanning on certain models, including yours (it's on my TODO list).  Also, I
think the OfficeJet 710's highest scanning resolution is 300 DPI, but if you
can prove otherwise then please let me know.  :-)
