Hello David and all,

you have solved my problems with compiling the hpoj driver. The CVS version 
works fine with my SuSE 7.2 , kernel 2.4.4-4GB.
Up to now I have only tested scanning from the commandline (in principle 
that's all I want) not from SANE. Printing is also working. I have seen that 
my HP OfficeJet 710 also allows scanning with 600 dpi. 
When I have some time I will also test SANE.
