Heyla, Folks. I've been trying to get my OfficeJet T45 to print in Linux for a while, and have always had a little trouble configuring the drivers. Here's my setup at the moment: Slackware Linux 7.1 kernel 2.4.5 qt 1.45 XFree86 4.0.3 hpoj CVS package My T45 is supposedly on /dev/lp0 I ran ptal-printd with the options of mlc:par:0 -like /dev/lp0 and I've run the apsfilter setup program, and set up all the printcap entries to use it, at the deskjet 550 drivers as stated in the PRINT-HOWTO. The problem I have is that whenever I attempt to print, ptal-printd returns an error: ptalMlcConnect(dev=par:0): error connecting socket, errno=2! ptalChannelOpen(chan=0x0804A4F8): provider failed open! My suspicion is: in my hpoj source tree (gleaned from the sourceforge CVS server) has the ieee12844/ subdirectory, but the only contents are the CVS/ subtree. My experiance with previous versions (I've been following the project off and on since 0.4) has been that there was sourcecode for a pair of kernel modules there. Could it be that the CVS server is not distributing them properly? I suspect that my problem may be stemming from this. -- Malcolm D.
