I just obtained a g55, and I am having a problem on a 2.2.17SMP machine.  I 
noticed another email that referred to problems like mine on an SMP machine.  
I am compiling a non-SMP kernel to see if that is the problem.  I might could 
help work through this if it ends being the problem.
