Hi, Gregory.  I fixed that problem.  It turned out that when scanning at
resolutions less than 42 dpi, the carriage moved so fast that it crashed
into the wall on both sides.  My fix was to check for this model and set
a minimum resolution of 50 dpi.  That should give enough of a safety margin.
Of course, if you still experience problems of this nature, stop using it
and let me know.  Fortunately, I don't think I killed the 1150C I was
testing with; it still seems to scan fine despite the abuse I subjected
it to.  :-)
