Quoting Peter Lesterhuis <pet...@ti...>: > Notes on www.linuxprinting.org are stating that scanning works great > with HPOJ. But when I follow the link to http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/ it > says that "For all USB and network connected HP devices use HPLIP > instead of HPOJ". And "HPOJ should only be used for parallel cennected > HP devices. HPOJ and HPLIP can co-exist on the same pc, but they cannot > acces the same device". So I installed HPLIP. > How can I get scanning to work? > Peter. This sounds more like a sane backend problem that an issue with the hpoj or hplip packages check /etc/sane.d/dll.conf on a line "hp" set in it. Depending on your distro this may be disabled by default. If that is the case, add the line or uncomment it and startup hpoj/hplip device and run the following command to see if it appears. scanimage -L -- Darragh "Nothing's foolproof to a sufficently talented fool" |
