Hi, i am using hpoj 0.91 both on my laptop as well as on my desktop (both debian sid) with my officejet v40. It works very well, better than hplip, which has problems with scanning via the adf. Now I have compiled and installed the hpoj 0.91 on a linksys NSLU2 (arm, big endian architecture, kernel 2.6.12), which I'd like to work as a printer server. Compilation and installation works flawlessly. However, 'ptal-init setup' cannot find the printer. The syslog contains lots of errors such as: Aug 30 13:24:45 (none) lpr.notice ptal-mlcd: SYSLOG at /public/share/sources/hpo j-0.91/mlcd/ExMgr.h:646, dev=<mlc:usb:probe@/dev/usb/lp0>, pid=2312, e=25, t=112 5401085 ptal-mlcd successfully activated, mode=1284.4. Btw. the hardware and the connection to the officejet is fine as I can print via cups using a raw printer driver. Michael |
