It didn't compile out of the box (it actually looked for some linux headers... so I didn't look any deeper...). Actually I wanted to get it compiled on FreeBSD, but never found the time to do it (and since the hack for hpoj I posted some months ago worked with my PSC 1210 (for scanning) I didn't have so much pressure...). And just these days I finally exchanged my PSC 1210 with an Epson printer (Epson Stylus Photo R200) and scanner (Epson Perfection 3170) [the HP ScanJet 2400 didn't work with SANE at all, I had already bought the ScanJet and was completely surprised that it wasn't supported, so I exchanged it with the Epson devices]. But that shouldn't discourage anyone here. I'm very glad that at least some people at HP work on drivers for their devices, but it's a bit of a shame that not all their devices are supported out of the box... CUPS and SANE provide so nice interfaces... So please please please, provide drivers "officially" for all your devices for Linux/FreeBSD/... [read: for CUPS and SANE] out of the box, on the driver CD and it should be visible on the device package. And I would very much like to see hplip work on FreeBSD!
