I have already made first Mandrakelinux RPMs of HPLIP. You find them on http://www.linuxprinting.org/till/tmp/ Version is 0.8.4. Note that there are three binary RPMs, one main package, one with HPIJS 2.0 and one with the PPDs for HPIJS 2.0. foomatic-rip is not included, it is already installed with the foomatic-filters package. To try HPLIP, install at first only the main package. The toolbox should work then on 10.1. On Cooker it really does not work. Cory, are you already testing with Cooker? Your PDF issues are probably a GhostScript problem. Try installing GPL GhostScript 8.15 from source. It should fix all PDF issues. To print PDFs then do not send them directly to CUPS (as CUPS uses XPDF to convert PDF to PostScript). Open the PDFs with gv and use the print function of gv to get them printed.
