[hpoj-devel] HPOJ can't find OfficeJet V40

Hello,

I recently purchased a OfficeJet V40 (USB). The device is correctly listed 
in /proc/bus/usb/devices, but when I run "ptal-init setup", it finds no 
device. The probe for /dev/usb/lp0 takes about 15 seconds; the ones after 
that takes less than one second each. None of the probes is successful.
The computer that the OfficeJet is connected to is running Debian Woody and 
the 2.6.5 kernel. The version of HPOJ is 0.8-11. Here are the first few 
lines from syslog after invoking ptal-init:

Should I try:
- compiling the latest version of HPOJ (0.91) since I have 0.8 installed, or
- going back from kernel 2.6.5 to 2.6.2 since the latest kernels seem to 
have USB issues, or
- is there anything else I may have overlooked?
