The scanner seems not to be recognized on the HP LaserJet 3015. I have
it configured as Laserjet 3300. It's a multi-function unit and the
scanner should be seen.
Any suggestions?

Are you using hplip or hpoj? Can you try hplip found at
http://hpinkjet.sf.net
