[hpoj-devel] HP 3020 ?

Here in India, there is a new low-cost HP LaserJet 3020
scanner/copier/printer.

I don't find this model in your list of supported devices:

Is this model supported on GNU/Linux?

Yes. Please see
http://www.linuxprinting.org/download/PPD/HP/mono_laser/hp_LaserJet_3020_3030.ppd for the proper PPD. Being postscript, no driver is required.

Scanning should than go via HPLIP, as with a PCL device: Start HPLIP, 
restart CUPS, set up CUPS queue with "hp://..." URI and above-mentioned 
PPD, check that "hpaio" backend is listed in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf, start 
SANE frontend (like "xsane").

Sounds promising, but why is the HP 3020 listed as working "Mostly"
instead of "Perfectly"?  What isn't working with this model?

Does it have fax functionality? If so, the fax is not supported and 
therefore the device is not completely supported.

As far as I know, the HP 3030 has FAX and the HP 3020 doesn't.  So does
that mean that the HP 3020 actually works "Perfectly"?

Yes it works very well, both printing and scanning. I posted a couple
of times here in the list how to configure this multifunction with
slackware and hpoj: just try to do a research in the list. 3020 works
well with hpoj, I tried also with the new hplip and both printing and
scanning work well too. I'm going to pubblish my success somewhere.
