Hi, I have a strange problem with a HP OfficeJet K80 on SuSE 9.2 (Kernel 2.6x, hpoj 0.91) and therefore need some debugging help. Please apologize if this is not the correct list, but someone recommended to ask here. 1) According to http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/suplist.shtml, the HP K80 officejet is "fully supported". The printer is detectable on the USB port and by the USB subsystem of the kernel during boot: a) /proc/bus/usb/devices T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1 P: Vendor=03f0 ProdID=0711 Rev= 1.00 S: Manufacturer=Hewlett-Packar S: Product=OfficeJet K80 S: SerialNumber=MY239D630108 C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=07(print) Sub=01 Prot=03 Driver=usblp E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms E: Ad=81(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms E: Ad=82(I) Atr=03(Int.) [....] 2) The automatic installation (SuSE YAST) caused error messages. Then I installed it "the manual way", with ptal-init, as described in http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/05/ke_hp-officejet.html (I used the german document from js...@su..., but thats the same). 3) I see no errors in the CUPS logs, so CUPS itself seems to be ok here. But I get an error message during probing of the "ptal-init setup" and numerous errors from ptal-mlcd in the syslog: ----------------------- Dec 5 11:29:20 linux ptal-mlcd: SYSLOG at ExMgr.cpp:653, dev=<mlc:usb:probe>, pid=8530, e=2, t=1102242560 ptal-mlcd successfully initialized.
