Well, I must be doing something wrong. I've been fighting this HP PSC1210 for
over a week with not a character printed.
Running RH-9, 2.4.20-8 kernel. Was able to scan right off and the machine
copies beautifully, but no print.
Got the latest hpoj and hpijs, cups 1.1.17, ghostscript 7.05-32 and went
through the install and setup multiple times. Always get "psc1210
successfully installed". Then print test page gives "could not connect to
remote server ."
/var/log/messages is full of the following two lines.
Oct 12 21:08:56 bruce ptal-mlcd: ERROR at ExMgr.cpp:2525,

Reinstallations are followed by:
Oct 12 21:19:09 bruce modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-188
lpr always returns the prompt immediately, but no printing. Same with lpr
testprint.ps (postscript file).
Hate to give up on a brand new printer, but I've heard that Epsons come with a
Linux driver.
