#1 manipulating packets

I'm looking for a program with the ability to manipulate
incoming network/internet packets automatically
before they are forewarded to Internet Explorer etc.
Example:
Program manipulates every packet in the manner that
it changes every word "new" to "old" so that in the
webpage everywhere the term "new" is replaced by
the term "old". Or do you know of another program
that has this feature?

You may need something like socat, netsed or divert socket.
