Following the INSTALL instructions, I executed the command

make clean; make install

Then I encountered two problems:

1.

dmake:  Makefile:  line 4:  Error: -- Expecting macro or rule defn, found neither

2. Where did the documentation go? It was in a folder doc_html but now that folder is empty. TkMan doesn't recognize hpgcc. The usual folder to look for documentation on my system, /usr/share/doc, doesn't have any hpgcc sub folder.

My system is Kubuntu Linux 8.10.

[Hpgcc-devel] Installing HP-GCC via aptitude

As a Kubuntu Linux user I lead a very sheltered life. I prefer to use aptitude to install all software that I don't build from source. Is there a .deb package somewhere? Is there a repository or something I can add to the list so that aptitude will see the package, so that I can install HP-GCC that way? Any clue would be appreciated. Thx

No. What you need to do is return something to the stack, execute the
input form, and then execute the C code again. It isn't too difficult.

I can set special CFLAGS and LDFLAGS for it for crossdev...

I don't know gentoo enough to tell you what their crossdev requires.
However, for the HP, you do need some particular flags.. I doubt
crossdev will use those

Is your Linux package the one in hpgcc.org for 2.0?

I'm using Gentoo Linux and use the crossdev tool for cross-compiling,
can I use the toolchain generated with crossdev to build hpgcc? or is
there any reason to use the one you distribute in the web page?

Is there any mandatory or recommended gcc version to do it?

Shouldn't be hard to get Objectiv C support in the existing GCC..
If you start from my linux package ; download the obj-c add-on for
gcc, recompile ; that should be all that is required

oriented interpreted language in Obj-C. The language is heavily RPN and
he would like to use it in embedded systems such as the 50g. Is there
any support, or possibility to support, Objective C in HPGCC?

Make sure you run the update command to get back to the latest
version. I generally also run a make clean, make arm on the whole
thing as I was never quite sure if that was needed. . .

As to the PN, i'd recommend getting the latest version from the PN
site and install it, then replace it over the top of the current
version. Then you get the latest bugfixes from that without messing
and of the HPGCC specific stuff. At least I've never had problems
doing it that way.
