This is a patch for the hp5400 backend which enables
the xpa transparency adapter.
It works for me but still needs some cleanup and testing.
I made the patch against the daily snapshot of sane-cvs
of 1 december 2003.
It will probably work well with a current cvs snapshot at
http://www.sane-project.org/snapshots/

I developed and tested it under windows.
Recent sane-backends can compile and work under
cygwin if you install libusb-win32. (I had to make two
small modifications to compile under cygwin, these are in
sane_cygwin.patch)

Please test and also test the normal flatbed
functionality. I had to tweak the moment and timing of
the lamp warmup to get rid of some errors.

Have fun,

Martin DvH

The XPA lamp turns on OK and the scan is OK except for the edges that looks to
be a bit incorrect. It should work enough to already be able to scan negatives with
    it.
    Thanks Martin,

    Thomas.
