[Hp5400backend-devel] unable to find 'some functions'

Hi.  I'm new in the list.

I've an HP scanjet 5400c, and I'm using Debian GNU/Linux.

After install the sane-bckends-1.0.12 and the hp5400-bckend 'beta version'=
=20
I've tried this:

debian:~# sane-find-scanner

It found two scanners, the 'scanner' kernel module and the libusb. If I=20
uninstall 'scanner' module it only found the libusb.

After this...  (whith the debug flags)

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

I've only the line  'usb 0x03F0 0x1005' in my hp5400.conf

Can anybody tell me the cause of this error.
