Background - Very Basic

Today computers are sitting idle most of the time because they have more computing power available than the computing power required by the programs running on them.
This allows us to run a special program on the computer which allow us to run additional operating systems which can then also make use of the computer's hardware.
This is called Virtulization and has many advantages.

• This allows us to run YFi Hotcakes Hotspot manager on a computer which has Microsoft Windows installed on it.
• A virtual machine (called an appliance) are very portable and can be moved from one server to another.
• Snapshots can be made of a certain version of the appliance enabling us to revert back when changes breaks it.
• You save on hardware, and power.
