Homesight Remote / News: Recent posts

I'm afraid to say I no longer have the Homesight kit to continue development of this project. Would anyone like to take over?

0.4.5.1 has been released and is ready for testing. The software has a new look and feel and quite a number of new features.

Should you find any bugs, please let me know and I can work on a patch.

To follow up on my previous post; the cause of the errors experienced in later versions of the Homesight software is that the contents of the event log have been encrypted by Motorola. This I guess is a direct hit at the Free "Homesight Remote" and may take a little while for me to work around. In the meantime, use of an older version of Homesight would be recommended. I was fully intending to have a new version of HSR released by now, and part of that release was going to be the source code. This is meant to be a Free software project, so the source was always going to be made available.

I'm not sure how many active users the project has, but I'd like to apologize to anyone who has been waiting for the new version, or source.

I do still intend to release a new version of the software, but I'm not going to try to kid anyone with any dates. I have too much stuff going on at the moment; I'm a full time software developer / architect and need to do all this stuff in my spare time. I have numerous other projects on the go. So in the mean time I have put the source into the SVN repository. Feel free to browse, copy and modify anything you like. Please do however send me back any changes you make so they can be included in the next release.... read more

Homesight Remote 0.33 has been released.
This release fixes issues displaying images in FireFox / IE 7.
An alpha system log view has also been added.

Homesight Remote allows remote web access to your Homesight system, from anywhere in the world.

Version 0.4 will include:

* New informative front end displaying system status and recent images.

* New system log information, showing keyed entrys and other system events.

* Bug fixes surrounding video capture.

This release simply includes the "Hasher" tool previously missed.

To change your password open a command prompt in the right directory and type:

> hasher -m B64 -v [Username]:[Password] (the : is important, the [ and ] are not!)
Paste the resulting hash into the file named creds.

Version 0.3 has been released. This version features a proper installer and some bug fixes.

Version 0.2 has been released. This version features a new home page, full support for captured images and an install script

HomsightRemote v0.1 has been released. The software is functional and allows you to view the last 20 events in your Homesight event log.
Camera images will be included in the next release.
