1) wondering if you have more documentation available w/out having to install the service? I'm trying to learn more about what I need and wondering what your software will do.
2) Also wondering that if I have the XG1000 does this work with that? (I havent' bought anything yet). I would love to be able to see sensor status as well as control the wireless thermometer.
3) Finally, can you use your software w/out having to subscribe to the $9.95 / month service?

2) The software was written with the Homesight Starter Kit, but will report on any device activity, so long as the Homesight software lists it (of course, the system needs to be "armed" first). Currently the software only allows you to view activity; you cannot control any devices. I do have other software you could look into, but why not checkout www.logmein.com ?
3) Yes you can, the software is completely unrelated to the paid service and 100% Free; both as in Beer and as in Freedom. (www.gnu.org)
As I said, if you decide that HSR does not meet your requirements, I would checkout www.logmein.com for finer grained control of your system remotely. You could of course install both as Homesight Remote is particularly useful for access via a mobile phone / PDA.

Thanks for following up! Sorry for my questions, but I got a xg1000 w/out any software, manuals, etc. I also got a couple of devices (camera, temp sensor). I have them all showing up on my network and they are registered fine, but I can't get your software to do anything. I'm not sure if it's because I have the xg1000, but wondering if it's possible to use these devices w/out having to subscribe to the service...
