HomeRun 0.2.0 Released - OSGi ready

HomeRun is pleased to offer a new developer/preview release
that greatly advances the home control and automation system.
Please note that it is not stable or of production quality.

Major changes are:

HomeRun has been rewritten as an OSGi application - i.e. a set
of plug-ins that operate in an OSGi framework. In addition to
the powerful life-cycle management facilities OSGi offers, it
is also the de facto standard for remotely manageble home and
other service gateways, so HomeRun can now leverage large
libraries of services written for the OSGi platform.

A new client-server discovery mechanism has been added so there
is no longer a need to assign host addresses for server or client at
compile time. It is based on the popular 'Bonjour' (zeroconf) protocol
used in Apple products and software.

This release offers binaries in addition to the source distrbution.
Combined with a pre-packaged demo, it has never been easier to
'test-drive' HomeRun. All you need is Java 1.5 on any Windows, Linux,
or Mac OS X computer. Download a server and a client for the OS
you have, and you are ready to go.

A handy new system exporter allows you to save all the objects
(actions, schedules, scenes, etc) from your system and install them
on a new system, trade with friends, etc.

As with every HomeRun software release, we invite you to become
involved in shaping the product as it develops, through the forums,
bug reports, patches, etc.
