#5 items class

I think we need two types of items: the item in stock and the item in the catalog.

This upcdatabase.com file is a good start for a catalog, but not enough...
I also like to add a "compare to" filed (Example: 1 4oz can tuna walmart brand and 1 4oz can tuna kmart brand = 2 x 4oz cans tuna in stock).
A ingredients list (this should help users with allergy's).
Warnings, like peter pan peanut butter case; I want this system to know about recalls and send out (or the user polls) warnings to the user.
Expiration guess (e.g. cans 1 year, pasta 6 month, eggs 14 days after purchase).
when you open how will that change the expiration date.

The stock item also should have information about:
purchased date.
the option to enter a expiration date for the item in stock.
is the item open value.
