I ran into this the first time I tried to build HOC from CVS, but
looking further back in the build log revealed an earlier error.  In
other words, that error may be a cascade from something earlier, not a
real problem in itself.

FWIW, my problem had to do with using gcc 4.0 in Mac OS X Tiger (see
http://sf.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=3D8262704&forum_id=3D44522
).
