HIPAA Open Business Objects / News: Recent posts

HOBO (HIPAA Open Business Objects) is a framework for generating Java objects that conform to HIPAA X12 EDI specifications.

Currently a prototype set of 834 transaction objects and an 834->XML converter are available. Other transactions can be generated by running the code generator versus their X12 specifications.

HOBO has successfully reached its first milestone. It is now capable of both reading and writing 834 (Benefit Enrollment and Maintenance) format transactions.

The next step is to implement and test the validation rules for the 834 transaction. If progress continues as rapidly as it has so far, this should be available in about two weeks.
