There are no plans for HAPI to support HL7 v3.  We did a little work in =
this
direction in 2002, but the HL7 Java Special Interest Group formed around
that time with the goal of providing an open-source library for HL7 v3 =
in
Java.  They are a capable group, and as long as they stick to their open
source plan I don't see a need to compete.  Here is a link to their =
