Hi Joe, It sounds like a sensible idea to me, but not having any experience with OpenEMed, I can't really claim to know what I'm talking about. The OpenEMed people might have something to say on this subject. I think they do have some HL7 functionality. I dimly recall a conversation with someone named Richard Schilling a while back -- I think he was involved with OpenEMed and planning to work on its HL7 code, some of which was already there. He was aware of HAPI at the time but I'm not sure if he ended up using it. I haven't met David Forslund, but I think he mentioned HAPI on another mailing list not too long ago. Again, very dim memory, I'm not even completely sure it was him. The point is that they may have more intelligent comments than I do :) Good luck, it's certainly worth looking into.
