In HL7, segment types beginning with "Z" are reserved for custom
segments, outside the spec. I believe you need to add a non-standard
segment to your message or group (I think there's a method
specifically for this).
There are a couple other options, as well. If you're message is
pretty "flat" (no repeating groups), you can probably use the Terser
class to add your Z-segments.
You can also define your own message type, complete with groups, if
you have several of these segments, include repeating groups, or want
some kind of enforcement of required Z-segments.
