I found a problem when playing hhexen. When you get
the center-end door open on the seven portals and climb
the invisible stairs the following error message
appears and the game terminates, as soon as you step
into that portal:

W_GetNumForName: clus1msg not found!

I also noticed that the alt key does not work properly
when you try to use it to step sideways (strafe) If
you push the arrow key a few milliseconds before the
alt key then the strafe works, but nof of you hold down
the alt key then press the arrow key. Weird, huh! I
examined the code in g_game.c that handles the key down
events and couldn't see anything different from what
was done in hheretic (which works fine). I am puzzeled
on this one. The only think I can think of is that a
renegade pointer is clobbering the key down boolean
table or something.

I did some more testing on the strafe key part of this bug
report. If you hold down the strife key (Alt by default)
then none of the other keys work! Somehow the strafe key
kills all other keyboard functions. I studied the event
handler thoroughly and the tic handler for g_game.c and I
can't find anything that would account for this behavior. I
even ruled out the other event handlers in the other
modules, by temporarily comenting them out of the code that
called the other event handlers. This made no change in the
behavior. So something in g_game.c is changing the way keys
are being interpreted whn the strafe key is down. I just
    can't see what it is.

I fixed this bug and added some enhancements. See patchs
reference number 700279. I will just add the file here too.

That particular message appears, because you arent't using
version 1.1 of hexen.wad file. Patch your wad.
