I use the 'SET COMPAT XEDIT XEDIT XEDIT' on every platforme I use. The only problem is that Linux behaves differently than it does on XP. Specifically everything typed on the command line is translated to uppercase regardless of <Caps Lock> or <Shift>. This is contrary to how it operates on XP. If I change to 'SET COMPAT XEDIT = XEDIT' the case is respected, but I can't use the arrow keys to move between command line and file area.
