      Jan,

Have you installed the Hermes QCSSL software described elsewhere in this message board? Be sure you've done that. Once you get that working, see if you're still getting such errors.

Hi, of course I have installed the Hermes QCSSL software; I have been using this update for more than half a year ok, and just a few days ago I got this error.

Hi, I've got a small business. Our email comes through bluehost.com

I've had certificate errors on 4 computers now. I think 2 had the earlier version on, but I am POSITIVE that two had the latest version installed. I had to manually accept the certificate.

Had to get them working for people, and didn't think to screen shot it.

Ideas? Any information I can get to you?

    >>john: I had to manually accept the certificate.

Even with the new patch/software installed, I still have to manually accept/update new certificates.

My understanding (which may well be incorrect) is that using either the hermssl.zip or the hermsetup.exe approach basically updates Eudora's TLS version to 1.2 (from 1.1)--I did a write up on both approaches and attached a PDF with detailed info and step-by-step instructions, see: https://sourceforge.net/p/hermesmail/discussion/general/thread/407979bc26/

Certificates change and for Eudora, that means--in my experience--manually updating the certificate via accessing the "Connection Information Manager" which provides access to the “Eudora SSL Connection Information Manager” and the “Certificate Information Manager” allowing the user to (manually) update certificates--highlight the appropriate Eudora Personality, right-click, choose Properties > Incoming Mail tab (for mail retrieval, otherwise use the "Generic Properties" tab) > click on the “Last SSL info” button.

Some anti-malware programs will cause Eudora to ask for a new certificate after they receive a major program update. Just accepting the certificate once should solve the problem.

Yes...that very often does indeed do the trick. I usually double check by going into Eudora's "Connection Info Manager" to take a look at the certificate and make sure it's been accepted...
