I may have mentioned this before. I'm in the process of designing a table
top game (my idea of relaxation). It's a kind of roleplaying game along the
lines of AD&D but without dragons and magic. Everything in it are hard
facts - except, of course, the scifi setting. The players play against
(and are sometimes forced to play with) eachother. It will be paranoical
and in a closed setting. In my case a spaceship. This is the basic premise,
if anyone, against my expectations, should be interested. Comments are
welcome.

immediate execution due wartime regulations.
It has come to the attention of The Earth Empire's military Spies and Liars
that [RACE1] and [RACE2] are secretly planning the downfall of the human
race. Since we have solar sail mega wattage lasers in orbit around Mercury,
and likewise on Earth (with huge heatsinks) we are , theoretically,
invulnerable to any threat coming at us with under 0.75c. Except if we're
overwhelmed by numbers. Our spintronic quantum computers are that fast and
accurate this day and age.
Any threat will therefore be either:
1.) An artificial meteor strike so close to lightspeed we wont see it
coming.
Forecasting OPs ascribe a 50-60% chance of this.
2.) A close to lightspeed spaceship(s) attack with antimatter weapons. That
is, particle and/or beam weapons, kinetic missiles, your classic claymore
mines, only nuclear or antimatter.
Forecasting OPs ascribe a mere 10-20% probability for this.
3.) Artificial supernova nudge of Wolf-Rayet star-system WR-104 which, due
to it's spin and angle, is pointing directly at Earth. Situated "only"
~1533 parsec (about 5000 lightyears) away, such an explosion would highly
likely sterilize the side of the Earth unlucky enough to be on the "right"
side. The resulting radioactive and meteorological fallout and, social
chaos will send us back to the stoneage or outright kill every living thing
on the planet except maybe cocroaches and Deinococcus Radiodurans. This
will, by definition, come at lightspeed and we will get zero reaction-time.
Both races are building Dyson spheres. Officially for energy purposes but,
Forecasting OPs suspect that they are really meant as protection from
accidential fallout and/or stray radiation when WR-104 goes supernova.
