Not to mention the incorrect display of the Eudora icon itself UNLESS the program is run in 32 bit mode
AND
if non default location for Eudora files is specified in 64 bit mode Eudora complains it can't find the files
UNLESS the program is configured to run in XP SP3 compatibility mode.
My primary system is a win10 32-bit VM (I still run some 16-bit programs) but I also use 64 bit VM versions of win7 and win10 plus several 64-bit versions of native win7. So, I have ample systems available for testing..

Soren, I assume you "get errors" when y ou try to run Eudora from the source code? I assume that all the Hermes developers have a working Eudora 7.1.09 install pkg of the software. If not, I have one. :-)

Well the source simply doesn't compile. I was given a version of what I
think is the current one. By Nick I think. It complained about some
MAPI.DLL so I didn't really dig further at the time. But I'll have to do
so, in order to get a feel for Eudora instead of gmail to, as I said, "feel
your pain". :/

Appreciate your kind thoughts....I'm not really having any Eudora "pain" at this time. Just anxious to begin testing Hermes, that I realize is still a few months away. The new QCDLLs have alleviated the biggest issue for most Eudora users. :-)

We're already talking about 64 bit problems, it seems there were originally
"smaller" problems:
[...
STRINGTABLE
BEGIN
IDS_SPELL_DLL "SPELL16.DLL"
IDS_SPELL_DLL32 "SPELL32.DLL"
[...]
Heh. The worries just never ends. :)

OK. I thought I was making an innocent joke there. Obviously not...

but, sadly there are a few issues, like the ones I reported, that need to be addressed.
(AFK)
But it just makes it so much more important that I start using Eudora
myself so I "feel your pain", so to say.
I get errors about some mapi.dll though.

This is a complete shot in the dark. But some of those problems could be
because of wrong DLLs, or people doing unsafe stuff in DllMain.

Please send me your copy of the working app. Who knows, it might actually
work!
:)
