HeliOS

The operating system for genuinely everyone

HeliOS is a customization of Ubuntu LTS, built for laptops and desktop computers.
If you are willing to use a rock-solid Linux distro with everything you need included by default, maybe you should try HeliOS.

Get started with the HeliOS documentation and contribution guide.

Quickstart

  1. Download the latest version of HeliOS in a bootable ISO file from the HeliOS website.
  2. Create an install media using a tool like balenaEtcher or Rufus.
  3. Reboot your computer from the install media and follow the on-screen instructions.

Why HeliOS?

HeliOS is based on the latest LTS version of Ubuntu Linux, and uses the Debian package manager.
But what makes HeliOS special?

  • That you can run Windows/macOS applications natively
  • That you can insall any software with just one click (for more info, see HeliOS Application Delivery)
  • That HeliOS is built by a 14 years old...
