HeliOS
The operating system for genuinely everyone
HeliOS is a customization of Ubuntu LTS, built for laptops and desktop computers.
If you are willing to use a rock-solid Linux distro with everything you need included by default, maybe you should try HeliOS.
Get started with the HeliOS documentation and contribution guide.
Quickstart
- Download the latest version of HeliOS in a bootable ISO file from the HeliOS website.
- Create an install media using a tool like
balenaEtcherorRufus. - Reboot your computer from the install media and follow the on-screen instructions.
Why HeliOS?
HeliOS is based on the latest LTS version of Ubuntu Linux, and uses the Debian package manager.
But what makes HeliOS special?
- That you can run Windows/macOS applications natively
- That you can insall any software with just one click (for more info, see HeliOS Application Delivery)
- That HeliOS is built by a 14 years old...
