Ok, I think I am ready to pull the trigger and start moving infrastructure around. I really prefer the idea of being able to easily develop features in branches and then merge them in when they're ready. It's nice to be able to start working on something and leave it there for a while without having all of its code/commits interleaved with those of other features. I also think that, these days, Google Groups is a much nicer interface than SF's mailing list software. You can choose to use it as a web forum or as a mailing list, depending on your preferences. The archives are also nicer, and are likely to be well indexed by Google. I think it's best to take things slowly and carefully though. The first step I want to take is to move the repository to github. Thanks to VirtualBox I have been able to test out tortoisegit and verify that it works ok. It's not that polished yet, but it seems good enough for people developing on Windows. When the github transition is done, then we'll look at the mailing list. -- David N.
