Health Monitor

Please use the files section to download the latest version. Do not use the Files/updates section - it is for internal use by Health Monitor apps to update themselves.

  • Please note, the authors of this application are programmers - not doctors! The application contains information about blood pressure and BMI (on the Help Menu) written by doctors which is intended only as a helpful guide.
  • If you think you have issues with your Weight, Blood Pressure or pulse rate, we strongly urge you to see a qualified doctor as soon as possible.

Installation

  • All the downloads are Windows Installers that will install by default to your 'Program Files' folder
  • If windows denies you permission to install, you need to run the installers as an administrator
  • If you install the Launcher, it will install, update and run any edition of Health Monitor via online downloads and updates
  • The Analysis app expects at least 4 health records before it can display a sensible graph
  • From time to time, updates will be available. Use the 'Check for updates...' item on the Help menu to keep your version up-to-date
  • The databases for MSAccess and SQLite3 are stored in a common folder for all users. Updates will not overwrite them.
  • Each windows user has his/her own configuration file containing the database to connect to as well as any other preferences. So two users on the same machine can use the same database, or different ones.
  • The MySQL 5.6 database is server-based, so anyone on the local network can connect to it. It is not recommended to use Health Monitor over an internet connection, unless it is very fast.
  • Everything is included with the SQLite3 edition. Nothing more to install.
  • With the MSAccess edition, you may need to install the ODBC drivers - see the front page for a link to download the free Microsoft drivers package
  • The MySQL edition will need the MySQL 5.6 database server installed and configured. The schema for Health Monitor is included in the installation as an SQL text file - ready to run.

Use

HealthMonitor comes with a database pre-populated with a dummy user called 'Please Delete Me'.
1. Add real user(s) using the 'User Management' tab controls
2. Delete the dummy user
3. Or simply edit 'Please Delete Me' with your own name and stats and click 'Update User'

Now you are good to go!
* Health Monitor is deliberately designed to take one reading per day.
* For best results, take the reading first thing in the morning, as a useful indicator of 'morning hypertension'

Lazarus/FPC developers

  • Use the SVN repository to download the latest source code
  • You will need to install a couple of components in order to compile Health Monitor. Sources are included.
  • PoweredBy.lpk
  • LazAutoUpdate.lpk
  • Synapse package (non-visual)
  • Health Monitor and Health Analysis are both single projects but with many build modes (for the various databases)
  • Linux support is functional, but pre-alpha. Watch this space!
  • Macintosh support is unknown, as I don't have a dev environment. Anyone willing to take it on is welcome to try!
  • If you wish to help development of this project, please email one of the developers

With the rise of digital technology, many people are turning to apps and online resources to manage their health. This includes utilizing services like a Canada online pharmacy where you can safely order prescription medications and supplements with ease and reliability.

Such resources not only simplify the process of acquiring health-related products but also offer a convenient solution for those who might have limited access to physical pharmacies. Ultimately, a "Health Daily Monitor" combined with reliable online resources can play a significant role in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
