After more than a year a new improved version of Headlines 0.6.0 has been released. May be the final version in Java. I am planning to move future versions into Jython.
Not much difference. Just some code refactoring and slight UI changes.

This version has fixed a few problems that were present while using the application in Windows. It has also allows the user to choose the plugins the application should load.
A plugin for Slashdot.org has been released. This plugin requires JAXP. Don't forget to download it from http://java.sun.com/xml/download.html.
The plugin is based on the code from Morgan Catlin.
Headlines 0.2.0 with several new features has been released. This version has been its core rewritten to conserve memory and improve speed.

The site headlines.sourceforge.net is now active. It still needs a lot of work but there is something there now.

A new version of Headlines has been released.
Version 0.1.5 has the following changes
Modified the program to load a faster. Instead of first getting all the news displaying the main window it now displays and then starts getting the headlines from the various sources.
Double clicking on headline will now make it launch a browser.
Added an option to set the browser to launch. The settings are save in headlines.prop file in the user directory.
The alpha version of Headlines has been released.
This version is just for the feel of the project. A lot needs to be done. It is for all my friends who want a peek at what I have been working on.
