HDRFlow Maya 0.1.0 for OS/X released

HDRFlowMaya2008 is a collection of floating point image readers for Autodesk's Maya 2008. It supports ILM's OpenEXR, DPX, TIFF, HDR and digital camera's RAW formats.

Currently, the only platform supported is OS/X 10.4.10 (Universal Binary). Other platforms (or Maya versions) may be available in the future if there is enough interest. The release is self contained, and it is provided as a sneak peak of the technology currently being developed for HDRFlow.

For support or feedback either subscribe to one of HDRFlow's mailing lists or email support@cryogenicgraphics.com.

To install simply double click the .dmg file. The plugin will be installed in /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/plug-ins.

To uninstall drag the plugin and /Library/Frameworks/HDRFlow.framework to the Trash.

Known Issues:

ILM's OpenEXR may crash Maya when used with the Mental Ray renderer. The workaround is to revert to Maya's OpenEXR bundle.
ILM's OpenEXR only provides RGBA (other channels are discarded).

The plugin only provides images in floating-point linear format. If the image comes too dark in the renderer some adjustments
to the HDR settings in Maya may be needed. In particular the settings from linear to exponential.
