    Hi,
I try to use this interesting work flow, but it hangs at the fixCA module. I get the following messages:

    joerg@jb-linux2:~/Bilder> hdrff fixCA
    Starte fixCA
    CAs aller Bilder entfernen …
    ContractViolation:
    Precondition violation!
importImage(): number of bands (color channels) in file and destination image differ.
    (/usr/src/packages/BUILD/hugin-2009.4.0/src/foreign/vigra/vigra/impex.hxx:118)

    caught exception:
    Precondition violation!
importImage(): number of bands (color channels) in file and destination image differ.
    (/usr/src/packages/BUILD/hugin-2009.4.0/src/foreign/vigra/vigra/impex.hxx:118)

Error: File not found - /home/joerg/Bilder/hdrff/img/ca_4379.tif

for 3 pictures I get this message 3 times.
I use a Suse 11.2 and the hdrff script from 'Linux User' magazine.

    What does this message mean?
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi Jörg,

the input-files for fixCA are generated with ufraw. Have you ever tried to view these generated tif-files with an image-viewer? Ufraw does not support all raw-image-formats, maybe the input-files for fixCA are already corrupt.

You might also consider posting the images somewhere, then I could download and test them on my computer.

    Hi Bernhard,

    thanks for the fast reply.
    The original files are jpg.
I used till than the following modules:
    name2lc fixDate setRO jpg2tif  findGroups
and than the fixCA. Is this wrong?

    Jörg

  • Hi Jörg,

no, the sequence of modules is fine. Looking at your first post, tca_correct seems to complain about the number of color channels. Are you working with b&w images? If not, please post the output of "identify -verbose" of one of the images generated by jpg2tif. It could be that a very dark or very light jpg-image is degenerated (with one channel completely missing).

  • Hi Jörg,

your images have an alpha-channel (and that is the problem). Are you sure these TIFs were generated by jpg2tif and not manipulated afterwards? If so, your ImageMagick version automatically adds the alpha-channel (which is somewhat surprising). You could try the following:
    Add

    : ${JPG2TIF_OPTS:=-alpha off}

    to your $HOME/.hdrff/hdrff.conf

    and restart the workflow.

    Hi Bernhard,6.6.1.0-9.1
    now it works :-)
The TIFs have been generated by jpg2tif and I did not manipulate them.
But the option in the .hdrff works.
If it is interesting the ImageMagick is version 6.6.1.0-9.1 for Suse 11.2 64 bit.

    Thank you for your help.

    Jörg
