Hi

I cannot speed down my DVD-RW NEC ND-3520A...
I can speed down if this is CD in the drive, but if it is DVD in it, then disk spin at full speed... I find in google kernel-lists archives some words about SET_STREAMING command... I want to ask hdparm developers if you know something about and can you implement DVD speed control in hdparm. Thanks.

P.S. I'm not a developer, so I don't know how I can do it.
P.P.S. Sorry for my bad english, I from Ukraine, so I do well in Ukrainian or Russian... :)

I think that SET_STREAMING requires direct kernel support,
so it cannot be done by hdparm alone.

Nack! I just looked into it again, and the SET_STREAMING
command is for ATA drives only, not ATAPI drives such as
    your DVD unit.
