    Hello (somebody here ?)

What is this -B option exactly ? Where do i find information on this apm-for-HD's ?

Or is it simply a combination of -S and -M ?

    thx

The -B option simply tells the drive firmware to use a specific power management mode.  These are vendor-defined, and often do more than the simpler -S (spindown timeout) does.

-B often also sets a spindown time of it's own choosing, but also powers down parts of the on-drive electronics before / instead / after spindown, giving a more comprehensive power-savings effect.

      Or not.

      Cheers
