Flash Instructions for the STC90C516RD µC

These instructions are specific to the STC90C516RD µC.

After configuring the board setup (each example could need some specific wire up), before you can test the program, you have to download the program first and Flash it into the micro-controller.

  • Step 1: install usb driver;
  • Step 2: Check the development board settings;
  • Step 3: install the compiled test program using the serial port (created by the CH340 USB to serial driver) into the CPU of the development board .

If the installation is successful, a communication port will appear on the Windows Device Manager after the Development board is connected to your PC, similar as the image below:

Please check if the development board settings are correctly setup:

When the development board is connected to the computer with the USB cable power is supplied to it.

Note: If using the USB Flash programming feature, do not use the > optional ISP flash feature (the 10 pin ISP connector on the > development board). These are mutually exclusive operations!

Open the X:\Part 2 Installation\Flash Software\stc-isp-15xx-v6.86E.exe Flash burning software (for details refer to Software Installation Guide.pdf), and be sure to setup the following settings:

Note: The main trick for this CPU is to press the Download/Program button and then press the Power button.
