Thankyou, that seemed to work, well at least I didnt get any errors when
running make :
mreyes@gandalf2:~/mod_haydn/mod_haydn-1.3-0.0.6$ make
/usr/bin/apxs -c -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
-lmono -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lglib-2.0 -lm -lpthread src/mod_haydn.c
gcc -DLINUX=22 -DEAPI -DTARGET="apache" -DDB_DBM_HSEARCH=1
-DDEV_RANDOM=/dev/random -DUSE_HSREGEX -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -O1 -fPIC -DSHARED_MODULE -I/usr/include/apache-1.3
-I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -c src/mod_haydn.c
gcc -shared -o src/mod_haydn.so mod_haydn.o -lmono -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl
-lglib-2.0 -lm -lpthread -lc -lm -lcrypt -ldb -ldb -lexpat
mreyes@gandalf2:~/mod_haydn/mod_haydn-1.3-0.0.6$
Now how can I confirm that mod_haydn is running within apache, and what
apache configuration changes are required so that I can run a simple
test.aspx, e.g. :
<%@ Page Language="C#"%>
<html>
<body>
<center>
<% for (int i=0; i <8; i++) { %>
<font size="<%=i%>"> Hello World from MONO & HAYDN</font> <br>
<% }%>
</center>
</body>
</html>

Subject: [Haydn-list] Installation & Configuration
I am attempting to get MONO to work with MOD_HAYDN so that I can serve ASPX
pages via
an Apache webserver (1.3).
Unfortunalty the installation/configuration process is something that isnt
covered in the mod documentation.
Does anybody have any experience of getting this up and running? if so how?
From what I can gleam from the limited docs, the haydn module needs to be
compiled into Apache, and this can be done via the make script supplied with
the module. This process requires mod_so to be compiled into Apache :
mreyes@gandalf2:~$ /usr/sbin/apache -l
Compiled-in modules:
http_core.c
mod_so.c
mod_macro.c
suexec: enabled; valid wrapper /usr/lib/apache/suexec
mreyes@gandalf2:~$
When attempting to run the make script for the module I get the following
output/error :
mreyes@gandalf2:~/mod_haydn/mod_haydn-1.3-0.0.6$ make
/usr/bin/apxs -c -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
-lmono -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lglib-2.0 -lm -lpthread -lgc src/mod_haydn.c
gcc -DLINUX=22 -DEAPI -DTARGET="apache" -DDB_DBM_HSEARCH=1
-DDEV_RANDOM=/dev/random -DUSE_HSREGEX -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -O1 -fPIC -DSHARED_MODULE -I/usr/include/apache-1.3
-I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -c src/mod_haydn.c
gcc -shared -o src/mod_haydn.so mod_haydn.o -lmono -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl
-lglib-2.0 -lm -lpthread -lgc -lc -lm -lcrypt -ldb -ldb -lexpat
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgc
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
apxs:Break: Command failed with rc=1
make: *** [mod_haydn.so] Error 1
mreyes@gandalf2:~/mod_haydn/mod_haydn-1.3-0.0.6$
Now this is where is gets weird, although apache is configured with mod_so
support the "apxs" untility hasnt appeared anywhere, so I have copied this
from another machine and place it in the /usr/bin/ directory.

I haven't checked the site in a while, but as of 006 there was no support for POST, just GET. Hi, I have tried compiling the mod_haydn onlinux with apache. It seems to execute the exe's which is good. I couldnt figure out how to get the parameters passed to the exe from the request ? Hope someone is listening on this mailing list. cheers, Ishpal. |

Nevermind Browser.WriteLine, it's not defined in the source. Only Write,
WriteByte and Flush.

I figured it out. Since none of the lib/Apache/*.cs files mention the
Browser class, I've added this to Server.cs:
class Browser
{
[MethodImplAttribute(MethodImplOptions.InternalCall)]
public external static void Write(string name);
[MethodImplAttribute(MethodImplOptions.InternalCall)]
public external static void WriteLine(string name);
}
Since Apache.Browser::Write is defined in mod_haydn.c, I assumed this will
work.
Btw, I'm using the latest, mod_haydn-1.3-0.0.5.
Let's see if this will work..

I must be missing something, but I can't seem to compile the examples. Whether I'm using mcs or make with the provided Makefile, I get Browser.Write was not found ... and Request type was not found. I'm on Debian, downloaded all mono-0.15 debs from debian planet. Please help me figure this out. As you ca tell, I'm new to c#. Thanks Max |
